This piece was a light-hearted detour for us. Taking elements from our first
performance, From The Birdhouse, we transformed them into something else;
that something else being two cherub/angels whose language consists of nonsensical
sounds and popular song played on our bellies. We shyly approached the audience
with Hooray for Hollywood playing from a small tape deck that one of us carried.
Awkward and startled "the creatures" (us) realize we are suppose to do something
and begin shifting through a variety of popular songs which we play clown-like
with various lip-buzzings and other non-verbal vocalizations. This performance,
while shorter and lighter then most, really was the bridge between two larger pieces
allowing us to move away from the first and go into Meeting Darrow, which continued
Angel and Anthems tongue-and-cheek commentary on American popular culture.
